unable to walk 4/23/2007 6:27:05 AM
what a game !! I am now wheeling myself round the office in my chair as my legs have turned to concrete. bloody foreign nipper making me run loads of quick singles, will have to cut that out with a few castle style run outs. So who is going to take on the task of getting the new boys on the rogues gallery with some typical chidd welcoming notes (vicious, sarcastic chainsawing of character)

Hole in the Hand Winner 2006 4/23/2007 5:36:52 AM
Great win on Saturday you Prima's but good job the fielding was up to the usual standard otherwise they'd have batted on for another 5 overs! Good to see I've got some competition this year for the "Hole in the Hand" and I bet Gleavo's are still ringing from that blaster from Cooky!

Grumpy Northern B******d 4/22/2007 1:49:09 PM
Thanks for all great messages from yesteryear but what's happened to 2007 ! What a start in the first game boys - a fantastic win at Puttenham and let's make a few more teams keep their dressing room door shut for 30 mins after the game cos we thrashed them with 3 balls to go !

Looks like I'll be back in town for the Glusburn tour weekend. Hope to see you all then. Feel in really good nick too. I think its not having faced a ball in three months...

Violet Beauregarde 8/12/2005 7:56:18 AM
Hi all, I'm interested in the crisps, (I have had enough of sweets). Would you be prepared to 'swap' them for a Wonka bar, with the chance to win a holiday? :-)

Spiceboy 7/27/2005 5:07:19 PM
Looks like another ten years in the wilderness, by then I might be just grey. :-)

lloydy glusburn 7/25/2005 5:33:03 PM
you're lucky this year as i'm not coming down!! After we gave you a good spanking last year, you'll be glad to hear that we have only improved (that's if we manage to bring a full team down). Watch out for BUNGLE though!

Whits 4/18/2005 6:13:23 AM
Just thought i'd leave a note to anyone who actually checks this thing anymore. Moir, get it updated, you numpty. Obviously I've stepped down as Tres now, but I just wanted to reassure everyone that I'll still be around so you have an outlet for your pisstaking. Here's to another classic Chid season. Smithers, release the hounds!

What's the latest news from the club ?? When do Nets' start

Buff Cooper 1/28/2005 10:51:41 AM
Thanks for the invite to the dinner. It was good to see the club in such good shape. What a great bunch of players obviously really enjoying themselves. Forget Liam, Wattsy is definately related to Cliff Richard in some way. 10 years since I've seen him and he has not aged one day. Same for his haircut come to think of it. I was pleased to see that Chris Howell has only inherited his father's body mass index and can actually play a bit of cricket rather than telling tedious jokes all afternoon. Bye the way Chris, if you want to break the sandwich record it is 27 (halves not quarters) plus two slices of rather dry sponge cake and three cups of tea (Woking 1991). Arfer made me open the bowling straight afterwards. Ben Castle you will always be the original nipper to me but you have obviously made much use of the training on social misbehaviour we gave you all those years ago. Good luck to you all for next season.

Larger than the average bear 1/28/2005 10:51:41 AM
Did anyone lose there sunglasses in glusborn, if yes contact TC as he has them.

Curator 8/29/2004 5:35:01 AM
Weather forecast for the Glusburn area on Sun-Tues is Sun/Pt Cloudy , about 65deg (19 Cent) and 10-20 % chance of a shower. Its long range so subject to error, but looking promising.....

Uganda Calling 7/22/2004 1:32:43 PM
Hi all, the search for new overseas exports is underway, talent severly lacking (although would i know talent if it starred me in the face???). Hope all is well, and let me know how things went against puttenham. See you all soon (well 3 weeks ish)

Ben 'The Byes' Castle 6/30/2004 1:27:13 PM
Am currently consulting with my accountant, trying to free up some money for the battle for the crisps/possible car........."Can anyone lend me 4p?"

baggy lea team 6/30/2004 1:11:01 PM
we'll bid 18p for the crisps as Mr Castle clearly has eaten a few too many recently.. think ben...less crisps = less lard = more agility = more likely to stop the ball = less likely to be the first wicky in the i'anson to conceed 1000 runs in a season. basics boy basics!

Moir 5/27/2004 5:23:50 PM
Did anyone get the password for the transfers this week, on our highly oversubscribed fantasy league cricket super league?

PFG 5/25/2004 1:26:36 PM
Castle: Bet you 1 stella you don't mention all the betting in the match report

1st Team 'Prima' 5/13/2004 2:41:46 PM
Who are these 2's we keep hearing about? And what are they doing playing on our hallowed turf? Tracks 1, 2, 7 or 8 only please curator (sir)!!!

curator 5/13/2004 2:35:11 PM
Pitch inspection- Wed pm: Improving slowly, outfield needs cutting, weather forecast looks OK. Two's should be on !

Curator 5/10/2004 2:57:12 PM
Still no improvement in ground conditions.Outfield waterlogged, BUT...weather forecast is improving.Long range prediction for next weekend is better. So here's hoping

Curator 5/6/2004 1:16:29 PM
Ground report: Outfield is waterlogged,no possibility of driving roller up to the square. prospects for saturday are not good ! Further report in midweek.

judas 4/27/2004 11:29:21 AM

Glkad to hear that the nets have finally been sorted, will see you all next sunday

Gleave 2/24/2004 11:06:07 AM
Well that extra 3000ft really did the trick! I felt that with my 9 extra on everyone in the mountain i got the air at its very freshest, also extra low oxygen content.

Ducks Winner 2/18/2004 11:20:59 AM
The nets start next weekend (29th). I can't wait to start dodging Gleavo's straight drives and ducking his bouncers! And at nearly 9ft tall, how much more training at Altitude do you need???!!

Gleavo 2/18/2004 8:12:18 AM
So when are these net? Im back from holiday and ready to go. I hope everyone else is, the altitude has been good training already.

Talman the traveller 2/18/2004 8:12:18 AM
Alright you rats. Hope your all well back in freezing cold england. Have we got a new pav yet? If not, why not? I hope you have all been out on a jolly big piss up, to once again celebrate a most superb season. Looking forward to joining up with you all soon, ready to launch the Chidd CC assault on the I'Anson divisions. Laters. RLT.

Wattsy 2/10/2004 10:45:57 AM

Quizmaster 2/3/2004 5:59:35 AM
Do we know when nets start yet?

Quizmaster 1/7/2004 11:16:43 AM
Happy new year guys, I just want you to know the music round won't be pants this time I promise. Also I am currently in huge amounts of pain having just got back from my first net of the year. See you all next week

Ducks Winner! 1/6/2004 7:03:32 AM
A happy New Year to everyone (especially any I'Anson Umpires who might be reding this - I personally think you do a great job). Gleavo, calm down mate - we'll sort a night out soon, oh to be 18 again! Russ, good to hear that you're having fun, tell Kat that we've put her down for the tea-rota job this season!! And pete, get your haircut. Here's to first division glory, remember that fantastic season when we were last in the top flight........err, well, nevermind - "Yeah, Rat Fans"!

Gleavo 1/6/2004 6:21:37 AM
We have to have a club night out sometime soon! Other than the DnD we havent been out, we need 2! Celebrate that amazing season! Russ no need to rub it in. I hope your having a great time. I cant imagine you are having a problem with all those ladies on the beaches. Great stuff. Take it easy.

russell 1/5/2004 9:32:50 AM
thank god we have got to sydney as its wall to wall cricket , however kathryn is not too pleased (nothing new there!) it was nice to look at the dinner pictures even being this far away from home. tell pete that everyone in the internet cafe is asking where he got his hair done. also paul, an ozzy policeman has spotted your face and is sending you that speeding fine. good luck with pre season training.

A Rat Fan 1/5/2004 9:32:50 AM
This site has just got one hell of a lot better with the addition of some fabulous photos of a sex god with a mohawk.

Gleavo 1/5/2004 9:32:48 AM
Has anyone heard from Russ? His leaving party was good, shame i only got in for half the evening! We should go out for a drink sometime soon. Make it a club evening out in London or something. Speak to everyone soon, Have a good christmas and new year.

Gleavo 11/18/2003 9:00:33 AM
It was a wicked night.Big thanks to Thorpey and Ben for all the organisation. Good way to celebrate a great season. Cheers again all!

Toms secret admierer 11/18/2003 9:00:33 AM
i think Tom/Gleavo is amazing!!!!!!!! He's the best tall cricketer i know! Be proud to have him in your team lads!!

castle 11/13/2003 6:24:56 AM
A BIG thank you to all those who attended and supported the Dinner Dance last Friday, and to all those who helped out along the way. Hope everyone had a nice evening - and that you felt better than i did the following morning!! Pics coming your way, very soon!

Bob 11/10/2003 10:54:11 AM
Hi boys - hope you're well. Just to say I was stunned when Howler told me about the award by email today - entirely undeserved, I'm sure! Well done on everyone who got something at the DnD, and especially to the first team for the great promotion and Thorpey for all-round cricket guru-ness (am I selected again next year Si?). I shall share Chid's glorious season with Ed Smith when I have a beer with him this week (no kidding! he's a student this term and Brits tend to stick together here) through him I'm certain that I can get Charlie that well deserved England starting spot... See you all soon. Bob

Your Biggest Fan 10/16/2003 11:41:52 AM
Hi everyone at the Chidd Cricket Club ... I just wanted to say, great website! But, I think you should devote the gallery entirely to Paul F Whitty - he's the sexiest man ever to hold a teapot. An apron shot would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work boys n girls!

egghead 10/13/2003 9:19:19 AM
well nice to hear your good wishes LAO/LHB man of mystery, or should we call you CHUCKA KHAN ?? I think 1000 runs and fifty wkts is beyond me. More like 100 runs and 5 wkts, but maybe smarty and talman will oblige. see u soon ?! eggy

Gleavo 10/9/2003 10:40:46 AM
Cant wait for the dinner and dance!! It will be awsome lads, lets take full advantage of the excuse to celebrate even more than ever!! I mean what better excuse, Div 2 winners! I cant think of any!!

LAO LHB 10/8/2003 11:51:57 AM
Dear All, So pleased that you are doing so well since I left in the late 90's !!!!. I wish you all the very best next year and look foward to looking Egghead getting 1000 runs and 50 wickets no sorry that's in his dreams......! I am sure that is time you let glusburn have take the cup from you for just one year.

charlie farlie 10/2/2003 3:57:32 PM
hi u guys r fab. u will win next time too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

skip2 10/2/2003 3:57:32 PM
Dinner venue is the Crown at Chidd on Friday 7th Nov......7:30 - be there or be square!

Moir 9/30/2003 4:15:11 AM
All this talk of celebrating and winning is gonna make the annual dinner even larger!!!! Has the venue been decided upon yet?

castle 9/26/2003 8:12:50 AM
That's what Wattsy's been spending his money on then - tempting overseas players to play for Chidd! Unfortunately, with Wattsy being Colombian, webbo Kenyon, me aussie and PJ coming from Leicester - we are unable to offer any more overseas contracts... anyway, I think that Sachin may get the arse having to bat below Harman at no.9!!! Yeah...Rat Fans.

Smart 9/26/2003 8:01:20 AM
Well what can I say - Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Championeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Championeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. La La La la La. As some one new to the club last year I would like to say that I have been made to feel very welcome and look forward to winning the 1st devision next season. I also hear that a consortium of rich members have decided to copy Chelsea? It has been banned about that we may well land a few overseas players. eg King Viv Richards, Steve Waugh and they are working on Tendulka. All have shown an interest in playing for the chid. I think they will struggle to get in though. What do you recon?

webbo 9/25/2003 10:57:29 AM
This is the chairman speaking. A very big congratulations to the first and second team for a successful, and extremely enjoyable, season. Since I joined the club, this has been the best season ever in terms of club social atmosphere, team spirit on the field, website and proactive sponsorship input, and successful recruitment of new players. Thanks to everyone involved, in particular to the committee, Chas and Paul especially for their consistent hard work. Please all support the club during the close season: working party on Saturday morning 10am onwards, dinner and dance, AGM/quiz evening and more. PS. Apologies to those who had to witness my streak across the square on Saturday night - too much brandy, not enough coke. See you all soon.

castle 9/25/2003 6:24:33 AM
Get In There, You Love It, You Rat!!! Well done lads, What a season - How good does it feel?! mmmmmmm Pleasing! GO!

Gleavo 9/24/2003 11:37:42 AM
Moir, did webbo ever find his sunglasses or are they still at the hay bails? Harman you cheeky rat! Have you got my batting gloves?

Bob Sleigh 9/24/2003 6:26:21 AM
Nice one! That's brilliant news - very pleased indeed! And well done to the 2nd XI too - good to end the season on the high. Sorry I missed the celebrations though... sounded fun!

beavis 9/24/2003 6:26:21 AM
big big thanks to thorpey, our proud sponsor! thanks for all the organising on sat night, photographer, shield chaser and champagne provider. so many thanks and what a great job to both of you (castle u rat) for giving us a superb website. truly a club to be proud of.

beavis 9/23/2003 6:00:27 AM

Gleavo/Mogli 9/22/2003 6:53:45 AM
Well done lads, thats a whole seasons work rewarded on one game because we wanted it that much! Lets see what the newspaper comes up with this week!! Well done.

Moir 9/22/2003 6:53:45 AM
Well the celebrations went on long into the night!!!!! Gleavo, webby and TC racing along the top of the hay stacks (Gleavo knocking himself out!!!!). THEN webby dancing starkers around the square. What an evening!!!! One for the memories.

castle 9/19/2003 5:19:48 AM
Beavis and Mogli are right lads, we've got to win it on saturday - Let's be positive and back ourselves all the way. We haven't done all this hard work ALL season to choke in the last couple of games. We top because we deserve to be, lets keep it that way. Bring on the Milf's!!

Gleavo 9/19/2003 5:09:47 AM
Come on lads, lets do this. We deserve it we have play well all season and lets prove we are the best team in this division and win it. Milford wont lie down so lets do this its for us and no body else!!! Come on the "C's"

Iain Beattie, Glusburn CC 9/18/2003 9:31:58 AM
Good Luck at Milford on Saturday, hope you go up as Champions. See you all in sunny Yorkshire next August. Bring the trophy its time it stayed in Yorkshire for a while !!

beavis 9/16/2003 12:28:38 PM
c'mon lads one game to go, now is the time to stand up and be counted. think of all that hard work you have put in all year, it must count for something. We must believe in ourselves we're not top thru luck, its because we have been the best and still are the best. one defeat doesn't change that. bring on the milf and heres to victory!

Cape cricketer 9/15/2003 7:08:35 AM
Well the weather is better in the UK than here, so after a couple of weeks altitude training down here in the cape I feel ready to return. See you at Winterton lunchtime-ish

Bob in Boston 9/15/2003 7:08:35 AM
Greetings from America! Although it's a day of memorial here, I shall tear myself away from the 24-hour live wailing on TV and say Hi to you all. Good luck this weekend boys - I guess it's the last game, so make sure you bowl a few short ones (down the leg side) for me!) bob

Castle 9/3/2003 7:38:35 AM
Well Wattsy, I hope that you can now see your player profile photo a lot more clearly!!

Castle 9/2/2003 11:49:21 AM
Work is in progress as we speak on the picture front. Oh, and although i'm pretty sure of your identity "original teflon" - after the weekend we've just had you could be one of many!!

The original teflon!!! 9/2/2003 11:38:57 AM
Castle you rat!!!! Nice work mate, keep it going. Surely those visitors would like to see just what an ugly lot we all are. How about little pictures for each player. Cert not saying they should be accurate!!!

beavis/judas 8/29/2003 7:43:06 AM
keep up the work on the website castle, the pictures are a good addition, and provide plenty of laughs with your great comic anecdotes!?. oh and best of luck lads over the next two weeks i want that title at our fingertips when i return.

angry fast bowler 8/27/2003 5:38:09 AM
Ha ha, Russ described with TC as a 'medium pace bowler'. That should make him nice and angry for Saturday..

Bob Sleigh 8/27/2003 5:38:09 AM
Skip, I'd recommend a skinfull before any match! Greetings from France, where -sadly- there is zero chance of me finding a game of cricket. Good luck this w/e boys, all 3 teams, and I hope to make my comeback against Thursley the following week - if I recall we got 8 points off them, so let's roll them over again! Tom

Gleavo 8/11/2003 10:48:07 AM
I dont think chaz got the jug in. Cheeky!!! We will hold him 2 that next week.

Skip 8/11/2003 8:12:55 AM
Tom do you think Stella can do the stuff for some of the other 2XI batsman and is she going to the committee meeting on Tuesday?

castle 8/6/2003 10:29:30 AM
